Thailand Reopening 2021 – Travel Restrictions

Thailand is gradually reopening for tourists but there are still travel restrictions present with 3 options available for travelers arriving in Thailand by air from 1 November 2021. Travel restrictions depend on traveler’s vaccination status and the departure country and can be the exemption from quarantine, participating in Blue Zone / Sandbox program or quarantining in Alternative Quarantine (AQ) hotel.

Important! During COVID-19 pandemic ALL travelers need to apply for Certificate of Entry (COE) before traveling to Thailand. The COE system is going to be replaced by Thailand Pass but it might take some time until the new system becomes available.

Everything you need to know about these schemes for entering Thailand by air starting from 1 November 2021:

Exemption from Quarantine – for vaccinated from eligible countries

1. Exemption from Quarantine

Starting from 1 November 2021, Thailand begins welcoming fully vaccinated tourists from specific countries without having to undergo quarantine.

Eligible Countries

Only Eligible Countries that are listed here: Low Risk Countries

Note: Travelers must reside in the eligible countries for at least 21 consecutive days before traveling to Thailand

Returning Thais and foreign residents can stay in an approved country for less than 21 days, as long as they are travelling from Thailand to the approved country and return within the last 21 days.

Quarantine

No quarantine

Note: Travelers must wait for RT-PCR COVID-19 test result at the hotel for 1 night or until negative result will be received

Vaccination

Fully vaccinated (at least 14 days prior to travelling to Thailand)

Note: Children under 12 years, travelling with their parents or guardians, are exempt from vaccination requirement
